Terry Fox Run!

We will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run/Walk on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Permission Form: The form can be found in Rycor website at https://www.brsd.ab.ca/families/online-payments-ordering. The permission form is necessary to participate in the event and leave school property.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in a meaningful community activity while supporting a great cause and honour the legacy of Terry Fox. To make this event memorable and enjoyable, we will be organizing a run/walk for students around Mirror Lake, which will require students to leave the school property.

Event Details:

  • Date: September 23rd, 2025

  • Time: 11am - 12:30pm

  • Location: Mirror Lake, Camrose

  • Purpose: To honor Terry Fox’s legacy and support cancer research

Transportation and Supervision: Students will be walking to and from the lake under the supervision of school staff.

Permission Request: To participate in this event, we need your consent for your child to leave school grounds if they are under the age of 18. Please complete the permission form on Rycor and submit the form by September 22nd.

Additional Information:

  • What to Bring: Comfortable clothing, sturdy walking shoes, a water bottle, and a hat or sunscreen if the weather is sunny or layers if the weather is windy.

  • Emergency Contact: Please ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date on the form.

  • Special Considerations: If your child has any medical conditions or special needs that we should be aware of for this type of event, please inform us in advance.

Optional Donations: While participation in the event is encouraged, it is not mandatory for students to make a donation. However, if you and your child would like to further support cancer research, you are welcome to visit the Terry Fox Foundation website at [https://terryfox.org/ways-to-give/] to make a donation. Every contribution helps in the fight against cancer and is greatly appreciated.

This event is a wonderful chance for our students to participate and bring attention to a charitable cause and experience a meaningful day outside of the classroom. We appreciate your support and cooperation in making this event a success.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mr. Price at aprice@brsd.ab.ca.
